🌿 Institutional Partnership Opportunity

Green Space Berlin

A live public tool for Berlin's green future — looking for institutional partners to fund its next chapter.

I'm seeking support from Berlin public institutions, Bezirksämter, environmental bodies, and urban planning organisations. In return for funding further development, I'm open to meaningful ownership participation.

What Is Green Space Berlin?

Green Space Berlin is a free, no-login public map that lets any Berlin resident explore urban green-space coverage, vegetation status, and CO₂ absorption potential across every district — all powered by live data from OpenStreetMap, WFS, and Geofabrik.

The tool is already live and in use. The next phase — expanding data coverage, improving district-level analysis, and building a reporting layer for urban planners — requires dedicated development resources. That's where an institutional partner comes in.

Who I'm Looking For

Berlin institutions with a mandate around environment, urban development, or citizen services — and the capacity to fund or co-fund a public digital tool.

🏛️

Bezirksämter

District offices overseeing local green space management, public land, and neighbourhood development plans.

🌱

Environmental Bodies

Institutions focused on Berlin's climate targets, biodiversity, green infrastructure, and environmental policy implementation.

🏗️

Urban Planning Agencies

Organisations responsible for city development strategies, zoning, and the long-term spatial planning of Berlin's built and natural environment.

💶

Public Funding Bodies

Fördereinrichtungen and innovation funds with mandates for civic tech, digital public services, or green transition projects.

What a Partnership Looks Like

Fund Further Development

Provide direct funding or grant allocation to accelerate the platform's next development phase — expanded district data, planning-layer integrations, and a public reporting dashboard.

Ownership Participation

In return for meaningful funding, I'm open to transferring a stake or co-ownership of the platform to the supporting institution — making it a permanent public digital asset for Berlin.

Shape the Roadmap

Partner institutions get direct input into what gets built next — ensuring the platform serves real planning and policy needs, not just general public interest.

A Fair Exchange

🏛️ What Your Institution Brings

  • Funding or grant allocation for platform development
  • Access to official urban and environmental datasets
  • Institutional credibility and public trust
  • Distribution channels to reach Berlin residents and planners

🎯 What Your Institution Gets

  • Ownership stake in a live, functioning civic tech platform
  • A public-facing digital tool you can point to as a deliverable
  • Direct influence over the platform's features and development priorities
  • No need to build from scratch — the technical foundation is already done

What Gets Built Next

With institutional support, the next development phase would include:

Expanded coverage across all 12 Berlin Bezirke with richer vegetation and land-use data
A planning layer showing proposed and approved greening projects from public records
Downloadable district reports for environmental and urban planning use
An API for integration with existing city planning tools and dashboards

Let's turn this tool into Berlin's official green space resource
